He was born in Udine, Italy. In 1979 Di Bartolomei set up his own Design Agency in Udine (I) and later established international contacts which led to the opening of satellite offices in: NewYork, Brendale Brisbane Qld (AU).Di Bartolomei is involved in Industrial & Interior Design, Design of exhibitions, planning of buildings. Di Bartolomei has also designed for some of the most renowned industries including: Aurora Penne, B.I.C. Carpets (B), Calligaris, DEM, Domitalia, Emmegi, Fiam Italia, Frag, Linea Fabbrica, Marmo Arredo, Montina, Microdowell, Oliver B Group, Passoni Luigi Sedie, PSM, Rossi di Albizzate, Soft Line-All Kit, Tonon, Top Line.During his career he has designed numerous design works ranging: from chairs, furniture, to accessories, lamps, to objects, to jewelry, to pens, industrial machinery, for some of the industries most qualified. Some of his works have also been selected and exhibited in museums like: "The MoMa” in New York and in "The Cornig Museum of Glass" di Cornig-NY (USA). His personal Design exhibitions have been set up in Italy as well as abroad.
In 2004 his name has been included in “The Museum of Modern Art Design Encyclopedia” published by MoMa in NY.
In 1991 he designed the "TOKYO" table for CALLIGARIS that was selected for the "Young & Design 1991" award in Milan (I).
In 1996 he was awarded the "Marcello D’Olivo" (I) prize for design.
In 1999 he designed "STAR GAME" Sidereal Clock Displayed at Udine (I) the Theatre Giovanni da Udine and in Prague (CZ) in the Astronomic Observatory
In 2001 he co-staging of the exhibition dedicated to the poet Rainer Maria Rilke that was held in the National Library in Prague (CZ).
In 1997, in 1999 and in 2007 won the TOP TEN award at the International Chair Exhibition in Udine,(I).
In 2007, he was awarded the international prize“Interior Innovation Award Cologne 2007”(D)
In 2015 Parson360, IoT objects collection, design for Video Systems, Winner IFSEC Security & Fire Excellence Awards 2015.
Specialties: Materials research has always been the key point, the base from which, for its projects.
Design Professor at the Academy of Fine Arts Cignaroli of Verona, former design professor at the Faculty of Architecture of Trieste, in 2004 his biografy and work has been included in “The Museum of Modern Art Design Enciclopedia” published by MoMa di New York.
His commitment to design is also extended to publishing. He has several years headings, on the design theme, in some known magazines.
